With reference to the above, the Public Relations Officer is requested to issue a press release on the matter as follows:
NOTIFICATION
Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the post of JRF in the KSCSTE assisted Research
Project under Dr. Mohamed Shahin Thayyil, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Physics, University of Calicut.
JRF (1)
Qualification : M.sc Physics with minimum 60% marks
Additional Qualification : Research experience in Amorphous materials
Age limit: 25 years
Fellowship Amount : 11,000 pm + 10% HRA

Communal reservation will be followed in accordance with the provision of KS&SSR and Kerala Public Service Commission Manual.

The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is an autonomous academic national institution of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Sciences & Technology. The Institute has its main campus in Koramangala, Bangalore and CREST Campus at Hosakote, Bangalore. It operates field stations at Kavalur & Kodaikanal in Tamilnadu, Gauribidanur 
in Karnataka, and Leh/Hanle in Jammu & Kashmir. 

Applications are invited from young, bright, and highly motivated individuals for the following positions to work at Indian Astronomical Observatory, Hanle (Ladakh region of Jammu & Kashmir):

1) Name of the Post : TELESCOPE OPERATOR

Scale of pay : Pay Band 1 Rs.5200-20200 plus grade Pay Rs. 1900/-

Age : Below 30 years

 Qualification : HSC/12th pass.

Experience : 2 years in operating opto-mechanical / electro-mechanical systems at  high altitude (above 10000ft amsl). Minimum qualification may be relaxed for candidates with more than five years experience in operating opto-mechanical / electro-mechanical systems at very high altitude  (above 13000ft amsl).

Job Requirements : Operating the telescope at the Indian Astronomical Observatory, Hanle  (15000ft amsl) and provide support for remote observations. This job involves working through specific number of nights in each month and other support activities during the remaining days.
